Keen
on a Ministry Year?
Coaching team
If you desire to serve the Lord and young people, why not consider
being part of a Coaching Team that will give you the unique opportunity
to exercise and develop this passion! Coaching teams are geared for
people who are interested in being trained in disciple making youth
ministry and who want to serve as part of a team for a year. Teams
consist of 3 to 4 individuals who have finished school and are enthusiastic
about youth ministry. Training takes place over a 4 month period (January
– April) and focuses primarily on a strategy for youth ministry.
Thereafter, teams are sent into a community to work alongside the
local church, training up lay leaders to run a disciple making youth
ministry (May – December).
Youth
Worker
Youth/Young Adult
If you have a desire to see young people come to know the Lord and
would work well as an individual in a local church, then the Youth
Worker Programme is designed for you! J-Life offers the opportunity
for you to be trained for 4 months (January – April) in youth
ministry and then either to return to minister with the young people
in your local church for the remainder of the year, or to work in
another church which has applied for a youth worker (May – December).
Camping Ministry
Youth/Young Adult
Do you enjoy camping and the out doors? Do you have a burden to build
relationships with teenagers and children? If you have answered “yes”
to the above, then a J-Life Ministries’ Camping Team is for
you! Camping Teams consist of individuals who have finished school
and are eager to serve the Lord and young people. Teams are trained
in the different aspects and “how to’s” of running
high impact camps using outdoor and indoor activities. Team members
will then be involved in running cutting edge camps for children and
teenagers for the remainder of the year.
Life Discipleship
Youth/Young Adult
Do you recognise a need within yourself to gain further life skills
in order to help you grow and mature into all that God has designed
for you? J-Life Ministries offers the Life Discipleship Programme
in order to assist you with this process. The overall aim of this
programme is to provide an environment for spiritual, emotional, and
character development, as well as a comprehensive grounding in the
principles of vocational godliness. After a four month training period
(January – April) at a J-Life centre, you would return to your
church where you would continue the programme under the oversight
of your youth pastor / mentor.
Please note that the Life Discipleship
programme is only offered to young people where their local church
is willing to “buy-in” to the programme and carry on the
process after the four month training period at J-Life.
Sports Programme
Are you passionate about sport and desire to use your sporting talent
in a ministry capacity? Do you recognise the impact that a sports
ministry could have on the lives of young people? If so, then why
not consider being a part of the J-Life Sports Ministry Programme?
This Programme consists of individual young people who are trained
over a four month period in youth ministry with specific reference
to sports ministry. Trained sports programme team members are placed
on a coaching team (see Coaching Teams) and will be sent to minister
in a church for seven months where they will train leaders from the
local church in the "how to's" of running a sports ministry
as part of an effective and holistic youth disciple-making ministry.
Theological
Student Programme
J-Life Ministries also runs a Student Programme which can be applied
for once you have completed a year on any of the above J-Life ministry
programmes. This is a minimum 3-year programme which enables you to
obtain a degree in theology (studying correspondence) while continuing
to work alongside J-Life Ministries in a ministry that is best suited
to you and your spiritual gifts. For further information, refer to
the J-Life Theological Student Programme
ACROSS
Youth/Young Adult
Do you have a passion for the arts? Do you desire to use music, dance
and drama to reach young people with the gospel? The J-Life Across
team uses music, dance, drama and multi-media to impact young people’s
lives with the gospel. After a four month training period, they work
alongside the other ministry arms of J-Life to assist the local church
in reaching young people. This team spends a week at a time in a community
where they use the above mentioned mediums as an evangelism tool,
as well as training young people within the local church to use the
arts.
